UK based sensational actor Daniel Kaluuya who is of Ugandan origin will have to tussle it out and beat America’s finest Denzel Washington to become the first actor internationally with the Pearl of Africa origin to scoop an Oscar.
The 28 year old has been nominated for an Oscar Award as Best Actor for his role in the hit horror film Get Out, but still faces a strong competition from fellow partners in crime to beat mention Denzel Washington, Daniel Day-Lewis, Gary Oldman and Timothee Chalamet if he is to make Ugandans proud.
Born to Ugandan parents in UK in 1989 where he kick started his acting career from, the 28year old comrade has already received a BAFTA nomination and a Golden Globe nomination for his breakthrough role in the horror film, a dark satire on race relations in the United States.
Kaluuya, a Musoga by tribe has previously appeared in the sci-fi anthology series Black Mirror and Britain’s Channel 4’s Skins, but Get Out is his first leading role in a major feature film and is ready to make history as the first Ugandan by origin to win the award.
