News coming in from the chief magistrate of the Jinja High Court affirms that a warrant of arrest has been issued to the celebrated media personality Mr Simon Muyanga Lutaaya who is attached to Bulange Mengo’s radio station, CBS FM and NBS TV.

According to the latest on our news desk is that the TV host of the ‘ONE on ONE with Tamale Mirundi’ on NBS TV who lost the Bulamongi Constituency parliamentary seat in 2017 has failed to pay the court fine of UGX 153 million having lost his court petition against his defeat.

Mr Muyanga filed the election petition contesting the ruling National Resistance Movement party (NRM)’s Kenneth Lubogo’s victory but he lost both cases at Jinja High Court and Court of Appeal.

Mr. Muyanga was supposed to appear in Court on Wednesday 17th January to show cause why he should not be arrested whether he is bankrupt after failing to pay the court fines but he did not show up at Jinja High Court something that prompted the deputy registrar, Mr Jesse Byaruhanga to issue an arrest warrant after Muyanga allegedly failed to honour court summons which he (Byaruhanga) describes a contempt of court.

According to the warrant of arrest, Muyanga is supposed to be arrested, sent to Kirinya prison or Nalufenya and his property sold off to recover the money.

We shall keep you posted.
